Hello R !
I am no technician Pfft We have a Siemens Gigaset 4000. It's a cordless phone (sorry, cant find a picture)
If we are away for a holiday, I pull the plug out and take the batteries out. Everything works fine after all is switched on again and the numbers are still in programm.
I hope this can be of any help to you Wink

Thanks Countess I'll try to find one of those but I don't know if they carry Siemens Gigaset 4000 in the stores here in Canada. I already checked ebay for one. Guess I'll just have to wait or look into another brand.

What kind do other members of this group have? So I can compare.
Thanks for any help. Grin R

Countess I have been trying to get something also with volume control as I have 4 disabilities. Clear Sounds phone is the best I could fine at London Drugs for $125. It has about 8 places for programming numbers & 3 for emergercy speed dial. But there's no way to keep the numbers in for power outages. It has a address book that has a battery backup but for me that feature is no better than a written address book. I'm still searching in quite a few stores with no sucess.,,,,,,,
