I have been attending a counsollor for a while now,it was him who found this web site about dyscalulia.
He told me yesterday that a tiny bit of research has started in the UK for this condition,he could not give me more details, but said he has heard from other doctors about it.
Will write if i hear any more

Thanks, Elaine, that's good news. Please let us know what you find out as things unfold. Does "Cheers" mean Goodbye when UK'ers use it? Bye, justfoundout

Also, 2 of the experts in the field, Brian Butterworth & Stephen Shin are both based in the UK. |

This is not on the subject of Elaine's Thread, testing in the UK, but I just wanted to tell you all that I accidentally started having a pleasant and lively chat with a lady at my new college who turned out to be a math teacher. She was absolutely charming, and seems to be one of those "kinder and gentler" math teachers. I gave her our forum address and asked her to visit us here. I told her that, besides dyscalculics, we have concerned teachers, and parents here for their children. Maybe she'll read our postings and have some ideas to help us even more. - justfoundout (Sorry for changing the subject, Elaine.) |

Oooh this is all sounding very exciting. I'd love to get involved with any research that's going on in the u.k. Shame i'm not at Uni now because I could have probably gotten myself tested there.
If anyone hears any more news about research in the u.k then i'd love to hear about it. |
