You know how I shop?

I get a glass of wine, put on my jammies, and log onto Amazon. I do this for a week or so, maybe two, when I get a chance and add stuff to my cart. When I'm done, I pay, and the boxes start to arrive on my doorstep.

I could even get them to wrap, if I wanted to, but I figure I got to draw the line SOMEwhere.

No irritating crowds, no parking issues, no traffic, no having to be out in the cold, no gas consumed, no annoying bells ringing every single place I go, no being harrassed to apply for a credit card EVERY SINGLE PLACE I GO, no having to endure the same badly played Christmas music EVERY SINGLE PLACE I GO....did I leave anything out?

Amazon, my friends.

I am with you Dulcy 9 out of 10 times its either Amazon/Firebox/Play/Doghouse. But that's normally for wee bits and bobs. I tend to OTT at Christmas time. I love giving presents. Hence saving from about June heehee!!!

I will venture to the city centre and get the wee things like chocolate/smellies/dvd's/cd's/batteries(always a must in our house as someone always get something battery operated and we tend to forget batteries) Just the wee things you can't get online.

Evie i actually started in August but it was just a couple of DVD's for my dad.

My friends and i are not gonna do presents this year. We are all gonna book somewhere nice to eat and have a few drinks. Seems fairer and more realistic.

I am excited now as my sister's Christmas well part of it anyway is arriving within the next 2-3 days woohoo

See i am already excited can you imagine me on Christmas Morning heehee!!! Grin

I'm with Dulcy. And I use online shopping for bridal/baby shower registry shopping. It's much easier than going to the store, tracking down the item and being insulted by a clerk for not spending enough. I remember my last pre-online registry bridal shower shopping experience. It was so annoying, over dinner & wine after, my friend and I wanted to launch a business where shoppers would go to a lounge, sit on comfy chairs, be served drinks & munchies. While scantily clad, hot men paraded the gift items by.

Bah humbug--I don't do Christmas. I boycotted it several years ago as I always despised Christmas anyway, because I think it's far too over-commercialized.

I also have no family living here, so it makes for a peaceful but inexpensive time of year for me.

We celebrate Christmas and don't celebrate Santa. We certainly don't spend lots of money on it. I knit scarves, make quilts, hand make all kinds of stuff, and machine embroider ornaments for friends and family. I start around August and it's a pleasure. Crafting keeps me sane, which has been helpful now that DS is back at school.

Hi Imay,
Not meaning to go into any great depth on my explanation here, but... Jesus told us to remember his death, and we know the date of his death. However, he didn't tell us to commemorate his birth. - jus'

We celebrate Christmas, but I refuse to spend a bunch of money I don't have. I make most of my gifts, though this year, because I have tendentious, I may have to buy some. My grandmothers are both getting tins that I found in the trash at school and am refurbishing with fabric. My niece is getting a crocheted stuffed animal. No clue what to get most everyone else. Not able to do much crafting this year, so will have to find useful things that aren't very expensive. I don't see the point in spending a lot of money on junk. If I have to buy stuff, it needs to be quality and useful.
I'm NOT lost, I'm just taking the scenic rout!

am Jewish, so Christmas is not my thing but we do see husband's sister and her family who do celebrate Christmas on a very small and personal scale <sister and her family have their own private get-together and the one that my husband and I go to with them is more of a general family gathering that happens to fall around the Christmas-time>.

Since hubby's and sis' parents died, what we all do is the adults just make charitable donations instead of buying each other stuff. We usually get a gift certificate to a bookstore or something like that for the pre-teen nieces. But this time of year for me really is nothing different than most other times of the year.

Oh wow I forgot all about this post Smile

I have all my presents and have just wrapped my friends as we are exchanging gifts tonight. My friends are at uni and doing exams all way up to Christmas week. My other friend is going to Hong Kong on 19th Dec for 10 days so we will miss her throughout the festive period.

This year due to me not having a job I have majorly cut back on gifts. Apart from that I have realised I buy people's love with gifts which is a NO NO!! I have spent £20 per friend I have 4 friends. I have spent £50 per family member.... I have 5 total of £320 granted I started Christmas shopping in September and a lot of my gifts were buy 2 get 1 free Smile

All I want for Christmas is a Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings sad I know but I worked 3 years on Christmas day so missed out on a dinner.
