this is a bit of writing i scrawled after visiting the trees at a creek near teecobugs house.
Somebody.
Somebody tell me.
Somebody tell me why.
Why this world must be so cruel.
Why we must endure the facts of life that simply can't be endured.
Why the dreamers, lovers, and thinkers are shunned from the rest of Humanity.
Humanity.
What is left of humanity when it bruises itself. cuts itself. kills itself!
When all thats left are the scars, the hurt, and the pain.
Pain.
There are too many different kinds of pain. there is the kind when you are hurt by you tripping over yourself.
There is the pain in being killed by a cold blooded assassin.
There is the pain in knowing you have just hurt somebody that can't be repaired.
Repair.
How much needs to be repaired on this wretched existence?
How many innocents have to die before we will realize that, we, as a state, a country, a world, must unite before harmony?
The only ones left are our constant companions.
The ones behind us all the way.
The ones who help us when no one else will.
The trees.
They give us life.
And what do they get in return?
They get the sharp bite of an axe, swung by they're children, the same ones they've nourished and cared for, all of there insignificant life.
And the trees, they take it as a bad turn of events and go on with life, just as we must do.
But now, they are upset.
Something has gone terribly wrong.
Worse then anything anybody could ever imagine.
It may not even happen within our life time, our children's and there children's lifetimes.
The tree can sense the future.
And something, will or has, gone terribly wrong.
Something has upset the trees.
Thank you all who visit, and double thank you to all who DON'T think I'm a psycho-maniac. I just need to get that out of me, my house, my life.

Xorthon,
I agree with Teeco. You have a wonderful gift with words and no, I don't think you are a psycho. I understand what it's like to look at devastation, and I share your connection with nature.
It took a lot of courage for you to post this here and I'm glad that you shared it with us. Please keep writing. I'd love to read anything else that you come up with. I know that I would be insane if I wasn't able to express my feelings through writing. |

one of my favorate songs from jack johnson, traffic in the sky.
my favorates are waisting time and banana pancakes, but thats beside the point.
Words of wisdom all around
but no one ever seems to listen
They talk about their plans on the paper
Building up from the pavement
there're shadows from the scrapers on the pavement
It's enough to make me sigh
but that don't seem like it would make it feel better
The words are all around
but the words are only sounds
and no one ever seems to listen
i think you would love all the songs he sings xorthon, listen to them.

That also is very closely related to me and how muy life and view is at the moment.
It is touching and pokes deep down in my heart where all the dark things suround a little blue patch of blue sky and makes me feel im not alone is this mess of a world/life.
You truely have a gift, and am glad your on this fourm.
Don't annoy me, I am running out of places to hid the bodies |

Your poem reminds me of living in rural Iowa. First of all, there weren't enough trees; but the real issue for me was the feeling like the land was on Thorazine. It was really awful. As I went about my day I could feel that the land was poisoned.
Have you ever visited the redwoods? They have long, long memories.
It's a tough thing when you go outside to restore yourself and you're confronted with environmental degradation. I actually know somebody in San Francisco who does healing rituals for trees for this reason.
One important thing I've learned in my life is that if you're sensitive to things like this, you really really need to take good care of yourself personally to keep from getting overwhelmed.

i know that i could be easily overwhelmed by things like this. as you may have noticed, close to the end it says
And the trees, they take it as a bad turn of events and go on with life, just as we must do.
i would LOVE to visit the redwoods, but my family doesn't really get a chance to do anything like that very often
