Hi all, my name is Bonnie, and I am attending Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, AZ. I want to be a math teacher, and have to do a presentatin on dyscalculia for my education class. I am having no trouble finding info on what it is, but I am having difficulty locating adequate resources (books, exercises, software, etc. - anything that helps your child with math) Can you all tell me what you have found to have great information/benefits/success for you, your child, and your child's educators? Appropriate feedback will be presented to future teachers of Arizona as applicable reference guide- please help!

Understanding a person learns best is a big step. To achieve academic success and confidence a place must be provide to work without a distraction and tools as needed. Introducing a new skill with more abstractions.

Appart from the very well known researchers Butterworth and Dehaene, I would suggest you to google under Cognitive Psychology and Dyscalculia, in order to get to know more about treatment and therapy for dyscalculia.
Extracts of the Handbook on mathematical cognition are easy to view on line:
