Well I did it again! I entered a competition on the TV and yes I thought quite confidently that I had successfully memorised the phone number in my head. I even felt confident when I rang and it was engaged - (really popular contest I thought) I finally got through to be greeted with "Thank you for phoning the adults only hot se.........line- please wait while your selected partner chats to you.....: Needless to say this was not what I expected!!Shock - I thought I was winning a caravan.!! So back to writing down numbers and not trusting my memory -good grief!!!Grin

OK Stop laughing now! - no I mean it I can hear all your giggles!!

Cheers for now

I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you! Pfft I'm laughing because I've done that too! Well, not reached an adult phone line, but I have gotten a second friend (to whom I had not spoken in almost two decades!) when dialing the first friend because their numbers had transpositions of the last two digits. Glad they didn't have caller ID! They never suspected it was someone they knew who had called them by mistake. I would have been dreadfully embarassed for them to know it was me who called them by mistake, not meaning to call them at all! Shock

My personal phone book lists the Police Non-emergency number right above the phone number of a mechanic's home phone number,... a mechanic who I've stopped using. In the middle of the night, with a rollicking party going on across the street, guess who's number I dialed. Shock But I hung up before anyone answered. Afraid they have caller ID. - jus'
