hello-
Forgive me if this has been discussed previously. I did a search and I couldn't find anything on this forum about this memoir I just read called My Thirteenth Winter by Samantha Abeel. I originally found it on Amazon.com- but was happy to see that my local library also carried a copy. It is about a young girl/woman and her struggles with dyscalculia in school and other aspects of her life.
It was a very moving story I highly recommend it.
Anyone else read this book?

You couldn't find any threads? Weeeird. I'm sure the book has been mentioned many times.
Try clicking this: Search for abeel on Forum Posts
Anyway, yup, I've read it too. One of my favorite books for sure. Samantha has a website, if you're interested? I'm sure she loves hearing from people that read the book.

I thought it was weird that nothing was coming up- but I must have been doing something wrong. Kind of still figuring out the whole forum thread thing. Sorry!
Thank you ert for the link to Samantha's website. I will definately see what she has to say.
I was interested to see how the dyscaulia not only affected her with math but also with english (punctions and grammer). I had no idea. I have so much more to learn about dyscalculia. |
