I had all three of my Final tests on the same day,... yesterday. The first started at 8 a.m., the second was at noon. The third started at 8 p.m. and I finished at 10:30 p.m.. My mind was so exhausted-yet-active that it felt abuzz like a beehive. I hadn't taken any of my favorite herb, St. John's Wort, for about a year. But this was one of those times that I remembered it. I took two capsules as soon as I got home, ate, and went to bed. It took the herb a while to 'kick in', but it did take effect and worked remarkably well. Whenever it was that I finally fell asleep, I don't know, but I slept and awoke refreshed. Thank you, St. John's Wort.

Our teachers have to turn in the grades by next week on Tuesday. (Today is Thursday.) So, I should know my grades sometime on Wednesday or shortly thereafter. Things are getting more critical as a get closer to graduation, because if I don't get at least a C in my two Spanish classes 9both at the 3000 level), I can't go on to take any of the 4000 level classes. I snooped around on our old grade site and saw that the teacher of one class has already posted my grade as a B! This isn't the official grade site for transcripts. I think that she may have posted it there as a favor to us, knowing how anxious we were to find out our grades. My clay class won't count against my graduation, no matter the grade. But I think I've probably got a B in my clay class, which will be fine. This really isn't a bad reflection on my art work. Rather, there was a lot of loading and unloading of kilns to do during the course, and I just wasn't well enough to volunteer for this. If he follows the syllabus, I could get my grade lowered by a letter for not participating. However, I have a documented disability, and with the accommodations for this, the teacher might decide not to count the lack of participation against me. I'm hoping for the latter, of course.

That one other Spanish course had wonderful information and I learned a lot, but I really couldn't 'learn' fast enough to keep up. I wasn't able to do all of the reading that was assigned, and the chapters that I did read, I couldn't 'take my time with', because there were so many other things to take care of. But, I'm hoping to get to re-read that whole book. The course was Intro to Spanish Linguistics,... much more difficult than it sounds, but fascinating.

So, who else is waiting on their grades from Spring semester? - jus'

Awesome...So how many classes do you need to graduate? You've been plugging away forever. Are you taking anything during the Summer?

DS has two comprehensive finals May 23 & 24. The tests cover math and lang arts. DS has dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. There will be some apprehension in our abode until then. We will be reviewing gently. I've already told him that the world will not end if he doesn't test well. Grammar is the problem. I'm not interested in seeing my 6th grader's self-esteem bashed over punctuation or his ability to properly use the words lie, lain, laid...whatever. He's supersaturated at this point.

I gotta say about the math... he's scraping by. He took a surface area, circumference, and volume chapter test and got a 95%. He struggles with adding 2 + 2, but can tell you the area of parallelogram (with a calculator). He will be homeschooled in the Fall and I have no idea what math program to use with him.

Jus, I hope all of your grades come back high enough to meet the requirements for your degree! You are such a hard worker, I am sure that all of your effort will pay off for you. I just got my grades a few days ago, and with my grades on record the university can finally OFFICIALLY say that I am a graduate. Smile Commencement is actually before final grades come out, so even if you're walking across the stage in your cap and gown, it doesn't actually mean you graduated until the grades come in to prove it! But mine did, so I should be getting my diploma in the mail in a few weeks. Exciting!

Congratulations, Jus! Smile I know you will or have done very well in all your classes. I have confidence in you! Grin

Good luck and let us know how things went.

Algebra? When I learn decimals and fractions, you're welcome to try teaching me, but unless you have the patience of a saint and are very long-lived, good luck with that... Grin

I know what you mean about 'walking across the stage' not meaning much. When I 'walked' for my Paralegal degree in 2008, I was only missing three credits,... college algebra,... to complete the degree. "Only"! We all know what a joke that was. I couldn't get the diploma until two years later,... after discovering dyscalculia, a diagnosis, and taking Logic. What they gave me on the other side of the stage was a beautiful green, gold embossed, padded folder, with a slip of paper inside that sort of said 'hello' to me. No diploma. What else I got on the other side of that stage was a big, happy hug from one of my teachers who I'd had for four of the classes. Yeah, he thought that I'd graduated, and he kept that mis-impression for the next couple of years,... until he asked what I was doing there, back at the college. He kept seeing me in the hallways, on my way to meet with the president of the college to get Logic to cover my math credits.

Unofficially, I've got two B's in the two Spanish classes. I'm still waiting for my grade in Clay class. - jus'

To complete this sage, I did get an A in that last clay class. The two B's in Spanish were not stellar, but considering the difficulty of the material and that I lost study time to a back ache, I'm just glad to have escaped with those two B's (and not C's).

It turns out that a 3.0 in Spanish is all that I need to get into the Masters program next Spring. At present, I've got a 3.6. So far, so good. Thanks for the encouragement. - jus'
