I'm about to make flyers for an upcoming event here in Denmark, we are going out on the streets to spread the word for a couple of days.

So, I need to make it look interesting. Slogans, important easy facts and stuff like that - but not too much. Do you have any ideas? I would looove that.

A member here has made the Alternative Learners-shop at http://www.cafepr...al/626503, and she wrote "dyscalculics DO count", that's cool.

We are having problems with getting the Danish government to acknowledge that dyscalculia is a problem, so I was thinking of "dyscalculics count too" - is that too cheesy or something like that? Grin

Would that be an ok thing to write? I like the "Dyscalculics DO count" too but that wouldn't work in Danish.

Hi Ert,
In regard to "dyscalculics count too",

I then thought of ; dyscalculics count 2.

Yet I then thought, in relation to a flyer and getting people to bother to read it. Perhaps;

dyscalculics count 2, but ?

So that it becomes a question, rather than a statement.
The basic idea being that having read the question, it may encourage them to read further, looking for the answer?

In relation to ; "important easy facts and stuff like that", I might suggest that the main message, is to let people know that their is now an explanation for why some people have a difficulty with Maths.
It's called DYSCALCULIA.

This is the first message that many Members of the forum were most relieved to discover. That eventually they have an explanation for their Maths difficulties.
All of the accusations of simply "NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH" were wrong!
Their finally is an answer to their question!

Dyscalculics count 2 - that's genius Grin

It wouldn't work in Danish since 2 isn't "too". "2" is just... 2. But in English, sure! I'll remember that for this site.

Hey Mette !

"Dyscalculia ?! Yes it`s like Dyslexia but in math " or
"Dyscalculia ?! Yes it`s like Colorblindness but with numbers"

kmgesham explain`s it to other people the same way I do Grin (the first statement).

There is a t-shirt that says "Dyslexics Untie" - catchy, cute and difinitely gets the message across, unless you don't understand that it's supposed to be "unite" Smile

Dyscalculia is harder, but I'm sure there is something -

"The Math Monster - Dyscalculia"

"Dyscalculia: 2 + 2 = 7 - or 10 or 6 or 2 "

"Can't count, can't add, can't multiply, can't subtract? Maybe it's Dyscalculia."

I don't know, but something - good luck. Smile
