Florida
A dyscalculic art teacher is about to loose his job because he can't pass the state-required math test. The other teachers praise his work, his elementary school students love him, their parents are happy with his work, and he teaches art, not math - but the state doesn't care. The Dyscalculia Forum exists to have a place where you can find support, but also to spread the word. Many of you are members of other communities - and we're probably there too. Did you know that? Add us as your friend and spread the word to your other friends. Maybe through a bulletin or message, but also just by having us on your friend list - in case they check it out from time to time!

| Is it embarrassing to have dyscalculia? |
Alright, time for a new poll. I was considering adding more options than yes and no - but I feel this is a yes or no question. Some members will recall, that this was also a poll topic in 2005, but I think it deserves one more chance. Now that we have almost 2000 members, I hope it can start a debate. If you want to discuss, go here. Oh, and about the fact that we'll soon have 2000 members, I'm thinking we should have a party. Online. I'll bring the guacamole!

| BBC Radio 4 |
On March 18 at 9PM UK time the BBC Radio 4 is doing a special on dyscalculia on the series "Am I normal?". And it's our own member ALB that helped out - her son Oscar was interviewed. The presenter Vivian Parry got tested for dyscalculia and it turned out she has dyscalculia.
So check it out - it will also be online for everyone to listen to, after it's been on the air. Thanks ALB and Oscar, you are very brave.

Our Member Martella/ Val has had great success in getting the BBC interested! Also volunteered to be interviewed about Dyscalculia!
So here's the Monday Schedule:
BBC Radio Lancashire: 7:35 am.
BBC Radio Sussex: 7:50 am.
BBC Radio Oxford: 10:30 am.
BBC Radio Essex: 13:10 pm [ten past one in the afternoon.]
As well as BBC TV on Tuesday, on the:
National Breakfast Television News show.
