Dear Phoenix,
The 'smiley face' software did that to me on a couple of occasions. It wasn't specifically after the word "maths", but it was equally incongruous. I think I was putting something in quotes because it was a 'misnomer' or 'euphemism', and the 'smiley face' just sort of made it look like he (it?) was even more 'in the know' than anyone should be. So ever since then, I click on "Disable Smileys" below the Smileys. I only allow Smileys when I'm very 'proud of myself' for something. - justfoundout
