When I attended a High School that was all spread out "Ranch Style", it wasn't difficult to find my classrooms, because everything was just a matter of "walking down the right hallway". There were "landmarks" of sorts,... the Restrooms, the waterfountains, the Gym entrance, the hallway where my first English classroom had been, etc. But in the college that I attended for 4 years, everything was in a 9 story, old, building (well, the top floor is just offices). So, my problem was that if I didn't remember the correct "floor", then I'd be walking a long way, get to the corner where I thought my class was supposed to be, and find the Nursing program 'dummy' patients, or a room with all the desks arranged differently than I'd remembered,... so I'd have to dig around and find my 'class schedule', put on my strong reading glasses, and check the 'room number'. Sometimes getting off on a wrong floor cost a lot of time, as the elevators were overloaded when students were all trying to get to their classes at the same time.
And only last month, I arrived at my Texas Government class (different college now) at 9:15am. After class, I apologized to my teacher for being 15 minutes late. He looked a little funny, but didn't say anything. Later, I realized that that is an 8:30am class, and I'd been 45 minutes late. Maybe he wondered why I was only sorry for the last 15 minutes of the 45 I'd been late? :o- jus'
