RottieWoman: It didn't take long at all to get the assessment scheduled but there is quite a wait to actually have it done. I think my therapist is pretty darn amazing. My physician, after seeing me for anxiety related to my math class, referred me to her specifically for treatment of PTSD. At our first meeting my therapist asked me why I was there (for math anxiety). She performed a short screening exam--had me perform number-related problems (like counting backwards from 100 in multiples of 7), and word-related problems (which I had no problem with). Right off the bat she told me her suspicion of a math learning disability but also coupled with PTSD. I think she's AMAZING! :)
