I think a lot of the food for human consumption from many places is of a concern, but many people have food choices and can self-educate; in general in many places humans are encouraged to eat wide variety of foods as opposed to the mistaken thinking with carnivorous dogs and cats that they should stick to one food or specific treats for their whole lives. They are therefore are greater risk of being forced to continually ingest something that is inappropriate and/or contaminated.
Since I'm a dog trainer and am heavily involved in rescue and other dog things, I specifically posted about this dog-related issue for anyone else who is involved with dogs.
Just yesterday I came across someone at the shelter who had brought one of the brands mentioned to use for the dogs and had no idea of what was happening.
