I think a t-shirt would be a GREAT idea - looks like this is an old thread though. :(

I like the phrase "math dyslexia - it's real" because it capitalizes on what people already know and twigs awareness that there might be something else out there. That was the phrase I saw in someone's livejournal icon that led me to this forum.

I don't like the ideas that talk about how we "can't" do math or numbers stuff - YES WE CAN! We shouldn't advertise on what we CAN'T do. Better to make awareness of what we are.

Just about every forum I have visited has stuff on cafepress.com. If you make it clear that the funds go to the forum, or help spread awareness, I don't think it's a big deal. People looking to buy stuff might be led to the forum because of it as well. I don't think having a design on cafepress would make it seem like the forum is just in it for money or anything like that.
